Today, we’re a team of 40+ incredibly driven and passionate people in the region, and we are looking for a VP, Corporate Partnerships to join our team.
What you’ll do
Portfolio Value Creation
Develop a deep understanding of Wavemaker’s portfolio companies, including their growth priorities, capital needs, and potential exit pathways
Map and prioritise potential strategic buyers, commercial partners, lenders, and secondary investors across key sectors
Facilitate high-quality introductions between portfolio leadership teams and relevant corporate or capital partners
Support partners in shaping exit narratives and positioning 12–24 months ahead of anticipated liquidity windows
Track and maintain visibility on corporate engagement activity across the portfolio
Ecosystem Mapping and Development
Build and maintain a structured map of corporate ecosystem players relevant to Wavemaker’s investment themes and portfolio needs
Develop and nurture executive-level relationships with key decision-makers across corporates, financial institutions, and capital partners
Identify opportunities to create repeatable partnership pathways that support ongoing portfolio value creation
Corporate and Capital Partnerships
Identify and engage corporates that may become long-term strategic partners or Limited Partners in Wavemaker funds
Collaborate with Investor Relations to cultivate and strengthen corporate LP relationships over time
Support multi-year capital formation efforts by building trusted, long-term ecosystem relationships
Who you are
You have 8+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, venture capital, investment banking, consulting/corporate strategy, or a related ecosystem-facing role
You have experience building and maintaining senior executive relationships across corporates, financial institutions, or startup ecosystems
You have a strong understanding of how startups grow in value, including the role of strategic partnerships, capital, and exit pathways
You are highly adaptable and can operate across multiple priorities and evolving scope with ownership and accountability
You are commercially minded, with strong instinct for identifying and activating opportunities that create tangible outcomes
You are proactive and execution-oriented, with the ability to independently initiate and drive strategic efforts forward
You are a strong communicator with executive presence and the ability to engage senior stakeholders with credibility
You are highly organized and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining focus on long-term outcomes
You are relationship-driven and genuinely motivated to help founders and companies succeed
