Job Description:

Overview

Lhoopa is seeking a highly analytical Strategy Analyst, ideally with buy-side or sell-side Equity Research experience, to support the CSO across capital formation, strategic partnerships, and investment decisioning. Youll bring public-markets rigor to a fast-scaling proptech real estate developer, bridging equity research discipline (valuation, coverage, insights) with private-market execution (fundraising, JV structuring, portfolio analytics).

This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to executive decision-making and external partners (LPs, banks, developers). Its a strong launchpad toward leadership in real estate investments, strategy, or capital markets.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Formation & Fundraising Support

  • Prepare institutional-quality investor materials: pitch decks, data room artifacts, DDQs, and technical appendices (assumptions books, model notes).
  • Own pipeline hygiene: track prospects, meetings, and next steps; synthesize LP feedback and translate into deck/model iterations.
  • Build structured benchmarking across instruments (equity, credit, quasi-equity), investor profiles, and partnership structures; track cost of capital and terms.

Equity Research, Valuation & Insights

  • Run bottom-up and top-down analyses: market sizing, pricing power, cost curves, absorption, and demand elasticity by segment/location.
  • Maintain peer comps and trading/transaction multiples (REITs, listed developers, homebuilders, materials) to inform private-market valuations.
  • Build and maintain modular models (project/portfolio, DCF, LBO-style leverage cases, waterfalls) with audit-ready assumptions and sensitivity frameworks.
  • Publish initiation-style briefs and ongoing updates on key themes (rates, policy, household formation, supply pipeline, capital flows).

Developer & Strategic Partnerships

  • Screen and prioritize JV targets and landbank partners; prepare deal screens, red flags, and partner profiles.
  • Support JV structuring (profit shares, waterfalls, governance) with clear model outputs and negotiation ranges.
  • Maintain the partnerships database (pipeline, stage gates, owners, docs) and prepare briefing notes for external meetings.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

  • Build executive dashboards covering capital deployment, project IRR, pricing velocity, and market indicators; automate data refresh where feasible.
  • Partner with Finance, Acquisition, Sales, and Product to operationalize insights. Monitor policy, macro, and credit conditions that shape real estate capital flows; translate shifts into actions/hedges.
  • Strategic Communications & Positioning
  • Craft investment narratives with sharp, evidence-based storytelling: memos, board updates, talking points, and conference materials.
  • Contribute to Lhoopas thought leadership with data-led visuals and commentary on housing/affordability and capital markets.

Program Management & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Drive special projects for the CSO (e.g., fund structuring options, vendor selection, analytics tooling POCs).
  • Keep post-meeting notes, actions, and owners tight; ensure decisions convert into plans, and plans into results.

Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • 2-6 years of experience with a strong tilt toward Equity Research/Equity Analysis (buy-side or sell-side) or investment banking covering real estate, REITs, homebuilders, infrastructure, or financials.
  • Expert-level financial modeling (DCF, three-statement, project/portfolio models, leverage/debt schedules, waterfalls); fluency with sensitivity/scenario design. Proven ability to write investor-grade research: clear theses, catalysts, risks, and valuation logic backed by data.
  • Advanced Excel/PowerPoint; working knowledge of a BI tool (Tableau/Power BI/Looker). Comfort with large datasets and messy data.
  • Crisp communication and executive presence; can convert analysis into decisions and negotiation ranges.
  • Ownership mindset, impeccable organization, and attention to detail in a high-velocity environment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Exposure to fundraising (LP outreach, DDQs, data rooms) or private transactions (JV, M&A, credit facilities).
  • Familiarity with ASEAN/Philippine real estate markets, housing policy, and capital markets.
  • CFA (Level I/II/III) or CPA, or relevant coursework/certifications.
  • Basic SQL and/or scripting (Python/R) for analytics automation.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or Engineering. A Masters degree is a plus but not required.

How Well Evaluate Success

  • Quality and timeliness of valuation outputs and investor materials.
  • Predictive value of insights (e.g., pricing, absorption, cost of capital) on commercial outcomes.
  • Measurable lift in fundraising velocity and partnership conversions (from screening to signed terms).
  • Adoption of dashboards/briefs by leadership and cross-functional teams.

Tools Youll Touch

  • Excel (advanced, incl. Power Query/Power Pivot) and PowerPoint; Google Workspace. BI & dashboards: Power BI or Tableau (Looker optional).
  • Data & scripting: SQL and Python/R.
  • Market & LP data: S&P Capital IQ or FactSet (Bloomberg a plus); PitchBook or Preqin. CRM (investor/deal pipeline): Affinity, HubSpot, or Salesforce.
  • Data room & document management: SharePoint, Intralinks, FirmRoom, or Box. Optional: GIS (QGIS/ArcGIS) for site and market overlays.

Why Lhoopa

  • Join a mission-driven proptech developer transforming how the market addresses the backlog in affordable housing at scale. Youll pair public-market rigor with on-the-ground execution, shaping how capital meets impact in one of ASEANs most dynamic markets.
